SUBARU XV

It barely six months and the concept XV car that Subaru launched recently is now a reality.

The elegant shape consist creatively designed wheels, cut-away cladding, and many other features that give the car a fun-loving personality.

Thanks to the inclusion of characteristic touches from the Impreza, such as the hexagonal grille and hawk eye-style headlights, the Subaru XV has an overall appealing design.

Center multifunction display
The front grille features a hexagonal design. The attractive design of the fog lamps allows them to blend seamlessly into the front bumper. The stylish designed aluminum wheels, which consist of silver spokes and black surrounds, give the XV different impression when moving and when stopped.
Rear of the XV
The corners of the front and rear bumpers have been designed with special edges that enhance the car’s aerodynamic performance and better fuel efficiency.
Cockpit
Instead of placing the turbo intercooler duct for diesel models inside an opening above the engine (like with other previous Subaru models), it has been neatly integrated under the hood.

Unique XV rims
The XV comes in numerous funky colors that include tangerine orange pearl, ice silver metallic, satin white pearl, dark gray metallic, obsidian black pearl, camellia red pearl, sky blue metallic, deep cherry pearl, marine blue pearl, and sage green metallic. The colors further boost the car’s fun loving personality.

UNDER THE BONNET
With the XV, what is under the bonnet defines what one get. There are three variations in the XV range. The first is the XV 1.6i that has Subaru’s newly developed 4 cylinder 1.6 litre Boxer petrol engine.
Gear selector stick
The engine has a total output of 148hp. It consumes 7 liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers covered.  The other is the XV 2.0i version. This has a 2.0 litre Boxer petrol engine and gives out around 180 hp. The last version is the XV 2.0D which comes fitted with a Boxer diesel engine. Connected to the engines is a six-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission system.

Plenty of storage space

INTERIOR
Inside there is enough room for five occupants to enjoy it luxury appeal. Leather covers the dashboard, multifunctional steering wheel and seats while touches of metal and cloth further enhance the interior. At the center of the dash is a Multi-Function Display (MFD) unit. It displays necessary information to the driver such as outside temperature, time, fuel efficiency and average speed.

Aux and USB ports
There is enough luggage space which is further boosted with the option of the foldable rear. It is now easier to load and unload heavy objects, thanks to the removal of a stepped section under the opening. The cargo area cover can now be stored under the cargo floor, as in the Forester.
Enough room for five
The front seats have a higher seatbacks, increased lumbar support and cushions that more effectively distribute pressure. There are also enough places to store plastic drink bottles and numerous compartments located in and around the centre console hold all manner of personal items, such as phones, USB drives and MP3 players.

AWD SYSTEM
Irrespective of the driver's level of expertise or skill, Subaru's unique all wheel drive (AWD) system allows the benefits of all-wheel drive to be utilized to their maximum potential.
AWD System in action
A computer ensures the car reacts to driving conditions such as acceleration, climbing, and turning by adjusting the front-rear torque distribution in real time. Whenever slipping of the front wheels is detected, the system increases the amount of power being distributed to the rear wheels, thus ensuring sufficient grip.
Multifunctional steering wheel
The XV will hit the markets before the end of there year. Subaru XV is available from Subaru Kenya at a price of Kshs. 4 million bob.
