Hyundai Veloster
Hyundai continued improvement in automobile design continues with the debut of the Veloster.

INSPIRED BY PERFORMANCE BIKES

The Veloster is a three door coupe that gets its design inspiration from high-performance sport bikes. The distinctive black A-pillars give the rear glass a motorcycle helmet visor appearance. It it bears Hyundai’s signature Fluidic Sculpture design.

The front consists of wraparound headlights bearing Hyundai-signature LED position lights, the distinct signature hexagonal front grille and hood scoop. The rear design has a distinctive glass hatch, dual centred chrome exhaust tips and black lower fascia. The rear window slants to connect with the panoramic roof at the top. A rear spoiler splits the rear window into two.

COUPE HATCHBACK

The Veloster also combines the style of a coupe with the functionality of a hatchback. Coupes have always been compromised by having to open the driver-side door before the accessing the rear. This was not only problematic for both the driver and passenger; it was difficult to operate in tight parking spaces.
Convenient hinged rear door

The Veloster has a conventionally hinged door on the passenger side provides a safe and ready access to the surprisingly spacious rear seats. The passenger-side rear door handle is hidden to maintain the coupe design. Hence the Veloster is one of the very few cars with three functional doors. The car comes fitted with distinctively designed 17 inch alloy wheel or optional 18 inch sport rims with low profile tires.

GDI POWER PLANT

The Veloster is powered by a 1.6 litre four cylinder heart. It’s the smallest Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine ever used in a Hyundai. The engine delivers and amazing fuel economy of 40 miles per gallon. The engine gives out an amazing 138 horsepower.

Connected to the engine is an all new six speed dual clutch transmission system. One clutch acts on gears one, three and five and the other used for two, four, six and reverse. Thus the car has smooth changes from one gear to another without any loss of power.

SAFETY DEPARTMENT
Functional rear boot
The car comes fitted with six airbags; two at the front, two side-impact airbags and two side curtain airbags. It also features a state-of-the-art braking package. The package includes four-wheel disc brakes and an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) including Brake Assist. This provides maximum braking force in case of an emergency. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) steps in to automatically adjust the braking force to front and rear wheels

FUNCTIONAL INTERIOR

Inside there is enough room for four occupants. Even though it has a coupe looking roof the rear seats sit lower providing enough headroom even for tall passengers. The rear seats can also fold flat to extend the rear boot space.
Leather doted interior

Leather covered seats; dashboard and multifunctional steering wheel emphasize the classy feeling of the car. The dashboard echoes Hyundai’s design characteristics that consists of a V shaped centre consol and slanted air vents.  It also comes standard with a multifunction seven-inch touch-screen display. Start the engine and the screen comes to life, with a Hyundai Veloster image and a unique sound.

The system can stream radio from either an iPhone, Android or Blackberry. One can even manage music playlists from music collections in either their phones or MP3 players. The driver can also search for songs by commands thanks to voice recognition software.
Spacious interior
The head unit features virtual CD downloading which is like having a 10-disc CD changer on board. This feature allows for up to 10 CDs to be stored on the systems memory. The systems memory also allows for viewing and storing of jpeg images, AVI videos and Mpeg videos from a USB stick. With video games being an important element of entertainment, the system has an integrated USB jack, RCA jack and 115-volt power outlet to support gaming consoles for ultimate gaming sessions when in park.
Optional aluminium sports pedals
The audio department is taken care by a 196-watt AM/FM/Satellite Radio/CD/MP3 audio system with six-speakers and iPod/USB/auxiliary input jacks. If this is not enough another 450-watt Dimension Premium Audio system with eight speakers including an eight-inch subwoofer and external amplifier is available. A Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition, address book download and audio streaming is standard. The system also integrates a rear-view camera to reverse out of those tight spots.
