Tata Zest Information

Tata Motors’ Horizonext movement may have been spearheaded by a series of updates to its existing models, but this is the first actual new product of the company’s big renaissance. However, the Tata Zest compact sedan isn’t an all-new car in truth, but instead a thorough revision of the Indica Vista platform, with the addition of a boot. Don’t think of this as just some mid-life facelift though, because the car has been heavily re-engineered, with just about every mechanical component modified or replaced with the goal of matching international standards. Tata has a lot riding on the Zest (and its upcoming hatchback sibling, the Bolt), and is counting on it to revive its waning fortunes in its home market.
The company has disclosed quite a few details regarding the technicalities of this yet to be launched Tata Zest. According to the details, this sub-4-meter vehicle will be available with a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel and also with a newly developed 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. The diesel powered Tata Zest is expected to give a mileage in the range of 23 to 25 Kmpl, while the petrol version could deliver 18 to 19 Kmpl.

Engine and Performance:-
The Indian automaker has developed an advanced 1.2-litre Revotron engine with 4-cylinders and 16-valves. The company has engineered it with a intercooled turbocharging unit along with a multi-point fuel injection system that enables this motor to develop a maximum power of about 83.83Bhp at 5000rpm, while generating a peak toque output of about 140Nm at 1750 to 3000rpm. The company is offering the petrol version of the Tata Zest with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that delivers the power to the front wheels. On the other hand, the diesel powered Zest comes equipped with a 4-cylinder, 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that comes with 1248cc displacement capacity. This motor can produce a maximum 88.73Bhp of power at 4000rpm, while generating a peak torque output of about 200Nm at 1750 to 3000rpm. This motor is coupled to a first-in-class F-tronic technology enabled 5-speed automated manual transmission gearbox that enables the engine to deliver a flawless performance.
