Subaru have just released official photos of their upcoming 2014 Subaru Forester. The new Forester has an aggressive and bold design that not only makes it more stunning to look at but also adds a little bit of room for the five occupants to enjoy. Its impressive 8.7 inches of ground clearance give it impressive SUV characteristics plus great off-road driving capabilities. Subaru have also retained the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder BOXER engine that had an output of 170 hp and 174 lb.-ft. peak torque.

The new engine is combined with either a new six-speed manual transmission or a new Lineartronic Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) system that have been finely tuned to improve the overall fuel efficiency of the engine. For lovers of speed and agility Subaru have introduced a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder BOXER engine that comes with direct fuel injection, turbocharging and an intercooler. The result is an output of 250 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine will be fitted on the new Forester XT. Married to the new engine is a new high-torque CVT with either 6-speed or 8-speed manual modes. Both transmission systems come fitted with Hill Descent Control for those tricky downhill decent.

This ensures that occupants in the roomy interior benefit from the impressive ride. The increased interior space has been devoted to the rear passengers and the cargo space. The new Forester also comes equipped with all new infotainment systems with features such as smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera, and harman/kardon premium audio amplifier and speakers. The roomier Subaru Forester will be launched at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
