Land Rover Defender

The Land Rover Defender is probably one of the all-time great SUVs of all time. Little has changed over 60 years of its life.

It has continued to be the must have SUV for tackling tough and rugged areas. It other great quality is that a customer can modify the Defender to suit his/her needs. For people seeking a higher level of specification in their Defender, Land Rover has just updated its option list to offer even more exterior and interior choices. 

Tough and dependable SUV for over 60 years
Overall design changes introduced in 2007 remain unchanged with the new model. However customers can now order the Defender with a range of contrast roof colours. There is also introduction of two new colours namely Barolo Black and Havana. The chassis frame is available in three different wheelbases and in both standard and heavy-duty. The chassis is married to a total of 14 separate body styles such as pick-ups, soft-tops, crew cabs and station wagons. One can also order a unique bespoke Land Rover Defender to suit their needs.



Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon

Under the bonnet is a choice of numerous engines. There is 3.9litre V8 petrol engine with 182hp, a 2.5litre I5 turbo diesel engine with 122hp and new 2.2litre diesel engine with 122hp and 360Nm of torque. Married to the engine is a GFT MT-82 6-speed manual with excellent ratio speed and high top gear for cruising and enhanced low-speed crawl capability.

Inside, tall front seats provide maximum back support and headrest support and are available as Premium part leather seats. The style of the seat naturally enhances driving support and comfort over the toughest of terrain. They at the front and also sport the Land Rover logo on the backrest. Standard seats get a centre stitch line on the headrest to give them a stylish look.

Center facia

The front facia which consists of a single large moulding supported by robust steel rails is still visible on the new Defender. The instrument dials, visible behind the steering wheel, give clear information to the driver thanks to bright LED illumination.

Overall styling remains unchanged

Versatile stowage shelves are conveniently located for both the driver and passenger. A powerful heating and ventilation system uses an aluminium plate and fin heat exchangers to deliver impressive performance to all occupants.

Premium Part Leather seats

The 110 Station Wagon, 110 Double Cab Pick Up and 130 Crew Cab models, can comfortably accommodate three occupants on the second row seat. The Station Wagon second row seats can easily fold flat to accommodate large and heavy loads. The Defender 90 Station Wagon second row occupants benefit from a pair of individual, full-size, forward-facing rear seats. The seats can also be fitted as third row seats in the 110 Station Wagon.

They are accessed either through the rear door or by folding the second row seats. They can also be easily folded and stowed sideways in the loadspace. Seat trims include durable all-vinyl and cloth specifications as well as the half-leather standard seat option and new Premium seats. All seats get three-point safety belts for increased safety. All models can be ordered with tinted glass that boosts interior privacy.

Alpine-branded Hi Line 150W subwoofer

The base entertainment system is a single-slot CD player, USB, Aux jack and 4x50W amplification with an optional audio upgrade available for Bluetooth connectivity with remote microphone. One can also order the Defender with powerful Alpine-branded Hi Line 150W low profile subwoofer system with 10cm coaxial speakers replacing the standard units. 


Defender 90 Station Wagon interior

The land Rover Defender is available with four optional packs. There is Comfort Pack which adds air conditioning, a CD Player with auxiliary input and convenience pack to the standard equipment. Next is the exterior pack which adds a Brunel grille and headlamp surrounds to the front, body coloured roof, wheel arches and side runners to give the Defender a rugged off road look. For lovers of classy interiors there is the Leather Pack.

Rear of the Land Rover Defender

This adds the Part Leather Seats, leather steering wheel on all body styles of the Defender. Lastly for the off-road lover an Off-Road Pack is available. This adds ABS, heavy duty rim and MTR tyres, tow ball and under-ride protection bar all to make the SUV tougher for off road challenges. A plain black hood is available as option on the Pick-Up while its Double Cab Pick Up gets an optional plain beige hood.
