BMW M6 Series

With the recent successful launch of the BMW 6 series family, BMW are made things even better with the launch of the all new M6 coupe and convertible. 

BMW M6 Convertible and M6 Coupe
It has huge air intakes, stunningly contoured headlight units and a redesigned M kidney grille which bears an "M6" badge. The front side sections of the car also feature familiar M gills.

They also bear the M logo. A collection of LED lights cut across the top of the Adaptive LED Headlights that come fitted as standard in both the Coupe and the Convertible.

Aggressive front

At the side its flared wheel arches give the M6 and overall width increase of 30 millimetres. They house the huge double-spoke 19 inch or optional 20 inch M light-alloy wheels.

Double twin exhaust systems with an incredible soundtrack

At the back it has the L-shaped rear LED found in a standard 6 series. Just like in every M series beast, huge twin exhaust tailpipes positioned in each side of the rear black diffuser.

Sits lower than the normal M6

On top of the coupe is a roof made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic. The convertible comes; you guessed it, with a cloth roof that fold to the back at the touch of a button. The cloth roof has been made even lighter thanks to the use of lightweight material.

Side gills with turn signals

This lowers the centre of gravity of the hence enhancing agility. The roof can be opened and closed at speeds of up to 40km/h by using a button in the centre console or by a remote control on my button on the car key. 


Shark nose front design

Under the bonnet is a new high revving 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine gives out 560hp and 680 Newton meters torque.

BMW M6 Convertible

In the coupe it will need 4.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h while in the convertible one will have to wait for 4.3 seconds to reach 100km/h. The top speed is limited to 250km/h.

However one can also order both variations with an M Driver's Package raises the speed to whooping 305 km/h! Fuel consumption has also been improved.

Aggressive M styling

The Coupe now consumes 9.9 litres/100 kilometres while the heavier Convertible uses10.3 litres/100 kilometres. Married to the engine is the M Double Clutch Transmission.

Twin turbo M engine

It combines two gearboxes in one single housing unit. It gives rapid acceleration allowing zero interruption in the flow of power when the driver accelerates, even during gear changes.

Classy side view

The M6 also has launch control for ensuring unbeatable acceleration from a standing start. The new BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible are also equipped as standard with a newly developed M leather steering wheel, complete with multifunction buttons and fixed gearshift paddles.

Large light M alloy rims

An Active M Differential allows the engine's power to be split precisely and quickly between the left and right rear wheel according to the requirements of the driving situation at any particular moment while Dynamic Damper Control system adjusts damping force electrohydraulically to provide the required responses for the driving situation at hand and fulfill the wishes of the driver.

Chrome exhaust pipes

Stopping power is further boosted by the use of the M carbon-ceramic brakes. They are made from a new type of carbon-fibre compound ceramic, the discs boast even greater resistance to heat and combine this with significantly reduced rotating masses.

To improve overall safety and stability the car incorporates Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Brake Assistant, the Brake Drying function and Start-Off Assistant.

The newly developed M seats adore the interior and offer the driver and front passenger optimum lateral support during cornering.

Bang and Olufsen audio

They also provide high level of comfort over long distances. They have eye catching stitching and have an M logo embossed into the shoulder area.

Front LED headlamps

They also have electric height, fore/aft and backrest angle adjustment and also come with pneumatically adjustable lumbar support, a memory function and a manually adjustable thigh support. Classy materials are visible all over the cockpit and give the M6 a luxury feel.

Huge wheel arches

 It has the traditional M instrument cluster that consists of red needles and white illumination, as well as model-specific displays and the M logo in the rev counter. An on board iDrive system that also has a 10.2 inch flat screen sits at the centre of the cockpit.

Large front air intakes

Controls are placed strategically to allow easier access by the driver. An M button on the steering wheel can allow a driver to put together a detailed set-up configuration for their car and store it by holding down one of the two M Drive buttons on the multifunction steering wheel. 

Comfortable front seats


The M6 comes fitted with a 2-zone automatic climate control system, heated seats for the driver and front passenger, fine-grain Merino leather trim with extended features, an M driver's footrest, exclusive carbon-fiber interior trim strip and door sill strips with ‘M6’ lettering.

Rear seats

It also comes with ambient light in the interior, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror and exterior mirrors (the exterior mirrors also have a folding function), Cruise Control with braking function, an alarm system and the BMW Professional radio with HiFi loudspeakers.

M Instrument Dials

For big spenders BMW will install other amazing stuff such as Park Distance Control, a rear-view camera, High Beam Assistant, Speed Limit Info, Lane Change Warning and Lane Departure Warning, Surround View and BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition.

Rear LED lights

They will also fit ones M6 with a system that integrates with an iPhone to display Facebook and Twitter posts on the on-board monitor. The system can also display real time traffic information and the latest news.

Wind deflector on the M6 convertible

The best deal in the option list is a powerful Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System. The 12 speaker system, in the convertible and 16 speaker systems, in the coupe, provides amazing surround sound to occupants.

Price for the M6 Convertible is priced at $113,995 (Kshs. 10 million excl. taxes) while one will have to pay $106,995 for the lovely M6 Coupe (Kshs. 9.2 million excl. taxes). The prices are for the base model only.
