CAMARO ZL1

Camaro ZL1

In 1964 Ford launched the best selling muscle car to date, The Mustang. Two years later General Motors struck back with the launch of the Camaro. To GM disappointment the Camaro didn’t match the prowess and power that the Mustang had.

Flamboyant styling never seen
In 2006 GM launched what is considered to be the best looking Camaro of all time. It was wider and larger than any muscle car in it class and it reflected the traditional history of past muscle cars; machines that has brutal power, a playful back and a deafening noise. Its new look gives it and aggressive stature while those headlamps, the curved grill with the huge Chevrolet logo together with the uniquely styled air intake complete the aggressive poetry.
LED headlights
The same is repeated at the side with the huge wheel arches that house the standard 20 inch aluminum forged wheels. At the back are twin rear LED lights at each side of the car while chrome polished twin exhausts are visible at the rear.
Amazing ZL1 engine

Different versions have been released since then including the Camaro Transformers that featured in the transformers movie.

Side view
None however has blown my mind like the ZL1.It is the fastest Camaro ever offered by Chevrolet. The ZL1 features technologically advanced, highly developed chassis and suspension systems that help it deliver balanced, track-ready handling and braking power to complement its high engine output.
Special dials
The ZL1 name is derived from the all-aluminum racing engine of the same name, which was developed in the late 1960s and installed into a handful of regular-production 1969 Camaros. Only 69 were built with the engine, but they've achieved mythical status among enthusiasts.

Rear View
Muscle cars have had a reputation for their unbalanced handling capabilities but for the ZLI all that is just but a speculation. Engineers at GM have fitted it with new technologies such as electric power steering and Magnetic Ride Control.

The car also comes with the world's fastest reacting suspension system.
Under the bonnet is an all new six-speed manual supercharged V-8 engine which produces an estimated 550 horsepower!

This in conjunction with highly developed chassis and suspension systems help it deliver balanced, track-ready handling and braking power to complement its high engine output. This means that all that power is planted well on the road by four wheels. I bet this Camaro will finally accomplish the goal it was destined for, to beat the Mustang GT500 at its game.

The new front fascia and hood with air extractors help to create aerodynamic down force that aids handling. The car's hood includes a signature center section constructed of carbon fiber and rendered in satin black finish. Wider tires and lighter 20-inch aluminum forged wheels portray the car's better handling and power as compared to Camaro SS. It also has ZL1 badges on the grille, hood and the brake calipers, all key areas portraying the technology within. At the back are twin turned exhausted systems and a spoiler that help plant the two rear wheels to the road.

Inside special sports seats made specifically for the ZL1 hold you in a perfect position as you grabs the redesigned leather covered steering wheel. Behind the steering wheel are dials that glow depending on the mood of the car. For example on sports mode they emit a red glow and at normal mode a blue light is emitted.

Next to the gear shift are four gauges that indicate the engine oil temperature, supercharger boost, oil pressure and transmission temperature.
Twin exhaust sytem
The ZL1 has enough room for four occupants. Drivers will also enjoy plenty of boot space and lots of attention from on lookers who will no doubly admire this beautiful peace of machine.
Shelby GT500 beater

Sadly the car is only available for the left hand drive market. GM will give it to you at a price of around Kshs 7 million excluding taxes. A cheap way to own a muscle car I presume
